Shaped Sweet Dinner Rolls

Ingredients:
1 cup + 1 tbsp. warm milk
3 tsps. active dry yeast
1 egg
1/4 cup granulated sugar
3 cups unbleached all purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
4 tbsps. butter softened

Yields : 16-18 Rolls

Directions:
Step 1 - Place your warm milk, sugar and yeast at the bottom of your mixer bowl for 10 minutes to give the yeast time to react. then add in your salt, egg, butter and flour. Mix on low speed until a tacky dough forms and leaves the sides of the bowl clean. Remove bowl and form the dough into a ball with your hands.  Spray the bowl with canola spray, place the dough ball back in turning to coat and cover with plastic wrap until doubled.
Step 2 -  Punch down the dough and divide into even sized pieces, then shape however you want.  Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place your shaped rolls about 2 inches apart. Lightly spray with canola oil and cover loosely with plastic wrap.  Let rise for 30 minutes until bigger, in the meantime pre heat your oven to 375 degrees.  Remove plastic wrap, melt one tbsp. of butter and brush each roll and sprinkle with toppings if desired. Bake for 14-17 minutes or until golden brown.
