Perfect Pie Crust

1/2 cup shortening (I used crisco)
1/4 cup butter
2 cups all purpose unbleached bread flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 cup very cold water (add more 1 tbsp. at a time until dough comes together)
(Egg Wash)
1 egg & 2 tbsps. water whisked

Step 1 - Using your food processor or by hand with a pastry cutter, blend the ingredients until the dough comes together. Roll out on a piece of parchment paper that is floured.  
Step 2 - Butter your pie dish and lay the crust inside. Bush any exposed crust with an egg wash and bake at 400 degrees for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown.
