Royal Icing for Decorating

Ingredients:
4 cups confectioners sugar
2 tbsps. meringue powder (found in the cake decorating/bake ware aisle at the grocery store)
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 tbsps. melted butter
4-6 tbsps. milk or water

Directions:
Step 1 - Using the whisk attachment in your mixer run on low-medium speed then work up to high.  If to powdery still just add another tablespoon of liquid at a time until the frosting comes together.  The meringue powder is important, it helps the frosting to stiffen (not run together).

Step 2 - Divide into smaller bowls and color appropriately for whatever design you might have in mind. Then place into piping bags or I use ziplocks most of the time and snip the corner.  Then pipe away!
