Sugar Cookie "Candies"

Ingredients:
1 Spritz Cookie Dough Recipe (http://jbirdbaker.blogspot.com/2013/12/spritz-cookies.html)
red food coloring

Directions:
Step 1 - Make the spritz cookie dough, remove and divide in half.  Place 1\2 of the dough back in the mixer and add 8 drops red food coloring (or more if you want a darker red result) and mix start on low speed gradually working up until the coloring is evenly distributed. Remove and place with the other half on a large piece of parchment paper.  Divide the red and plain dough into three sections.
Step 2 - Take one part of red dough and one part of the plain dough, divide each in half then roll into long skinny sections.
Step 3 - Combine the rolls together alternating colors (just realized it very much resembles a hot dog, ha ha), then rolls together to combine in the parchment paper.  Repeat steps 2 and 3 with the two remaining sections of dough. Then place the three rolls in the freezer for 30 minutes.
Step 4 - Remove the cooled dough and slice into 1/4 inch rounds. Place one a parchment paper lined baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes. I let my kids use some of the dough to make candy cane shapes, fun! (Pictured along some cookie press spritz to add variety.)
